2. Student 2
“There have been several cases where great powers intervene in wars, mostly for the cause of peace and justice. However, if this “peace” is achieved by the means of violence, is it really morally right for these great powers to intervene in conflicts? Is it really “good“ to follow the ideologies that the United Nations and United States favor? Additionally, the idea of peace and justice is very subjective, since the enemy and ally depends on whose perspective they are being examined from. For example, the Cold War involved several proxy wars internationally. Looking at this issue from a ”United States” perspective, democracy is portrayed as ideal, while communism is seen as the enemy. On the other hand, a Soviet person would think that communism is the better ideology, while democracy isn’t.”
