Research question: Is it possible to convert waste plastics into a low-emissive hydrocarbon fuels through catalytic depolymerization, and are they a sustainable source of hydrocarbons?

Claim: With the declining reserves of fossil fuels, we should be far more concerned about running out of hydrocarbons needed for plastic production rather than fuels. Research paper task: Gather secondary evidence related to the research question in order to evaluate claim. Evidence must be obtained by researching scientifically credible sources. To complete this task you must: -Identify the relevant scientific concepts associated with the claim. -Conduct research to gather scientific evidence that may be used to address the research question and subsequently evaluate the claim. -Analyze the data to identify sufficient and relevant evidence. -Identify trends, patterns, or relationships in the evidence. -Analyze the evidence to identify limitations. -Interpret the evidence to construct justified scientific arguments. -Interpret the evidence to form a justified conclusion to the research question. -Discuss the quality of the evidence. -Evaluate the claim by extrapolating the findings of the research questions to the claim. -Suggesting improvements and extensions to the investigation. -Communicate findings in an appropriate scientific genre. The response must be presented using an appropriate specific genre and contain: -A rationale for the investigation -Justified scientific arguments using evidence -The conclusion to the research question based on the interpretation of the evidence -Evaluation of the claim and suggestions of improvements and extensions to the investigation -Reference list Requirements: Rationale(introduction) – The rationale should justify the importance of your research question to society. It should demonstrate that you have carefully considered the claim and recognize how it can impact society now and in the future. It should also indicate how your research question has been developed from the original claim. This can be written as the introduction to your research report Justified scientific arguments using evidence(Body of Report)- It is imperative in this section that you rely on evidence and data to support what you are saying, you must: -Analyse the data to identify sufficient and relevant evidence -Identify the trends, patterns or relationships in the evidence -Analyse the evidence to identify limitations -Interpret the evidence to construct justified scientific arguments to support or negate your research question You also need to make sure that you have included the relevant chemical concepts where appropriate (structure, equations etc.) Conclusions to the research question based on the interpretation of the evidence (Conclusion of Report) – One you have made your arguments and explained the concepts you must form a justified conclusion to your research question. Your conclusion must be based on the evidence that you have presented and refer directly to your research question. Evaluation of the claim and suggestions of improvements and extensions to the investigation(Reflection) – This section will be after the conclusion of your report. You should discuss the quality of the evidence you have used(Is it supported elsewhere, is it a reliable source, how old is it etc) You also need to evaluate the claim by extrapolating the findings of the research question to the claim Finally, suggest improvements and extensions to the investigation that you conducted (what extra information is needed to better address the research questions and claim, how could better evidence be found/supported Reference list- Make sure you use the Harvard referencing system You must ensure that you have used sufficient resources to provide an in-depth analysis of all factor’s you have deemed to be important. You must also ensure that all resources listed are directly relevant to your research question. (use in-text referencing) File that has been sent is the document where the beginning of the rationale has been written – write from that idea
