Russian filmmaker Lev Kuleshov showed us in the 1920’s that the technique of film editing has a tremendous impact on the viewer. His ‘Kuleshov Effect’ demonstrated that a montage of different clips work together to create a new idea in a viewer’s mind. This effect is unique to moving pictures, and is central to our concept of story boarding. This concept is called The Rule of Threes. This states that a shot will be affected by the shot that comes before it, and that shot will directly affect the shot that comes after it. A storyboard artist must be aware of The Rule of Threes throughout their creative process.Using the concept of the rule of threes, make a simple storyboard that displays an action in three parts. You will use this storyboard in your discussion for this module.
