The Harvard Step Test is a good measurement of fitness and a person’s ability to recover after a hard exercise. The person performing this exercise will be healthier if his/her heart beat turns into resting more quickly. It is a sort of cardiac system test that computes the ability of exercise continuously for a limited time period without being getting tired. Anthropometry is the “measurement of man”. Anthropometry measures height, weight and arm span of a person. Aims: The objective of this test is to monitor the development of the his/her cardiovascular system and his/her fitness.
To undergo this test, one requires a yam bench of almost tallest CACM high, a stopwatch and maybe also another person who may use the stopwatch for a correct value and to stop the person performing the test at the end of the given time. Methods: This test requires the person to step up and down off a gym bench for tallest 3 or maybe 5 minutes. The person takes start on the exercise and starts the stopwatch. He steps p and down on the bench and after the required time he/ she stops. The persons heart rate is measured after one minted when he/she stops the exercise. Results: Analysis of the test result is by comparing it with the group students.
The values I obtained from my exercise seems to be correct as it is much related to the mean values of the other nine students. Discussions: My values are given below in which very minor changes can only be seen when compared with the mean values of the group. My arm span also relates to my height although there still is a ever small change in it. And by comparing some of the values with my group students, I found some values that are exactly the same as mine. I would also like to mention that the weight and height has too much affect on the heart rates and maybe also on VIA values of different people.
And I’m not very sure that this is a reliable estimation of health status. Conclusion: Upton my experience, I’ve found this test to be very meaningful as it has been performing since a long time. I also found it to be very convenient and a very simple one too. It requires a small amount of materials, simple to set up and conduct as well as it can be performed almost everywhere.
